this post by my friend is a really good summarization of the whole. Fuckening. but i'll summarize my involvement as well because its wild.

(fun fact, that video within the article was made by another friend based on a meltdown this user had on my profile! those screenshots are 100% real)

so, i made a blog post in late 2022 about my struggles with mental health. and sometime after posting it i made a status on my page that said something along the lines of "reminder that it's okay to have complex feelings about your mental health." because, i firmly believe that.

the user in question finds my status, assumes its about her for reasons only known to whichever higher power you believe in (because at this point i was only vaguely aware of who they were) and makes it their goal to have the most one-sided argument with me in the history of neocities.

they post status after status about how i must hate myself, speculated that i must be carrying a lot of internalized ableism to even dare make such a comment, and how much this person loves their delusions and psychosis. (note: at this point i haven't even said what about my mental health i struggle with. the blog post that sparked this was mostly about depression and anxiety as it related to my autism.)

i then got accused by her of being a pedo and incest apologist because i was in the same discord server as somebody who wrote some fanfiction that i frankly found reprehensible. (note 2: that fic writer is a fucking radfem now so. uh)

pretty much everything else is covered in the post by devils, i just wanted to finally post my story because i've been pretty quiet about it in an attempt to just distance myself from this person.

1. How many works do you have on AO3?

53 total, technically 1 of those is under a different pseud because it's the only fic I ported from FF.net onto Ao3 and I used my FF username as the pseud for that reason.

2. What’s your total AO3 word count? 

Just checked and apparently it is 2,416,967 .... sooo that's totally normal right?!?!!

3. What fandoms do you write for?

I struggle to write for more than 1 fandom at a time so right now I'm pretty much only writing Shadowzel from BG3.

Yep, no surprises there. But actually my 6th is Choni: She Didn't Know It Then but seems like my older fics from the fandom that was probably the biggest I've been in have the most kudos, makes sense to me hehe!

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

I try to respond to as many comments as I can while I'm posting. Unless I feel the urgent need to respond to a comment, I only respond when I'm at my desk about to update. So I don't usually respond once a fic is finished unless the comment really compels me to. This is simply a time and effort kinda situation, I read them in my email and they always make my day, and I'm always happy to respond on social media if anyone ever wants to chat about any of my fics!

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

The angstiest ending?! Uhhh I'm a happy ending girlie. I guess technically it's probably one of my Hosie oneshots in my A World Where I Was Yours series, just because it's my version of post canon of Legacies!

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

There are too many happy endings in my fics for me to decide aaahhhh. Ummmm. Maybe it's hard to breathe (when you're in the air) which is one of my favorite Hosie fics that I wrote?? but idk seriously they're all happy endings in terms of the pairing so it comes down to which characters in which fics had the happiest overall life situation and there are too many to think about it lol!

8. Do you get hate on fics?

I've gotten negative comments for sure but I dunno if I'd call it hate exactly. The negative comment that I remember the most was on a Choni fic and they complained that the characters were too OOC, and it was nooooot done constructively at all and someone else (possibly same person different guest user) piled on even more rudely... so that wasn't fun (and also yeah all my characters are kinda OOC because that's what happens when you write AU?)

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Yes, yes I do. I feel like it's fairly vanilla. I used to mark everything rated M before I was informed that perhaps I've been writing E smut without realizing it lmao. So now I rate new fics with smut as E.

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

I haven't ever posted any crossovers, but I did start one that was a Legacies/The Runaways crossover because of an idea that seriously amused me, but once I wrote the premise I got bored and stopped lol.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not a whole fic but back in my FF days someone took a Halloween Party chapter (wow I write those a lot actually, I'm not even a Halloween party girlie) and used it as a flashback on their Wattpad fic and someone kindly let me know and I had to message them to take it down.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated? 

Yes! I had a few fics back on FF.net that were translated into French :) but the deal was that I wanted to post them because I wasn't comfy with someone else doing the posting of my ideas. And now I typically turn down offers of translation just because I'm less comfy with it now then I was when I was younger.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? 

I haven't, but I'd be open to doing so if it was for an idea I felt like me and the other author(s) were really vibing with!

14. What’s your all-time favourite ship? 

Impossible question. Whichever ship I'm currently obsessing over is my all-time favorite. Which would be Shadowzel rn. But probably in a few years I'll feel differently lol. I strongly feel that all the ships I've ever shipped are the best ever and I cannot choose a favorite.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

Sooo many. I have a ton of Choni WIPs that I never finished, including one that got to like 20-30k words but just sits all dusty in its word folder. I once started a Part 3 to my Clexa travel fic (Come With Me linked earlier) that I couldn't get into but the vision was soooo cute. I also started a Part 3 to my Choni travel fic which also had a great vision but I'm just not as into Choni anymore so it feels hard to go back to now.

16. What are your writing strengths? 

I think I'm good at dialogue and characterization, those are my favorite parts of my own writing at least!

17. What are your writing weaknesses? 

Dude. I apparently cannot get enough of adverbs. I have to prune so many when I'm editing fics. Ugh. And I have some repetitive phrases that I also end up having to prune out.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? 

I've done it before with google translate and made modifications when people who spoke those languages corrected me haha. But it's not something I do often just because it hasn't really been super relevant to most of what I write.

19. First fandom you wrote for? 

Glee. It was Glee. I was 13. We don't need to talk about it.

20. Favourite fic you’ve written? 

My favorite?!!? It's always my latest fic, I pretty much always feel like the latest thing I'm working on is the best and so it's my favorite right now for sure. And that would be Reignited (Shadowzel).

HP, Supernatural, Dark Angel, Smallville, Twilight (regrettably), Sailor Moon, and BBC Merlin. Most of these were were RPs, though, not fanfic - for fanfic I think it's just HP & SPN.

🍈 How many years have you been writing fanfiction?

I think this year marks 20 years... Wow. Off and on, of course, but yeah. Since that first Neopets foray -- 20 years.

🍎 Do you read or write more fanfiction?

Definitely write more than I read, but I've been making a point to read more lately, so it's more balanced than last year.

🍌 What is one way you've improved as a writer?

I'm learning to not be so redundant in my writing, to be more intentional with how and where to use fluid prose, and to actually make sure my sentence structure is ordered correctly, lol.

🍑 Do you have any bad habits as a writer?

Getting too wrapped up in editing what I've already written instead of moving on to write the next bit; not sticking to a solid writing routine; getting stuck on making sure the scene is "right" instead of just writing it and working out the details later.

🍍 What's the weirdest topic you researched for a writing project?

I still think researching the history of toast in Britain was pretty weird, especially given the fact I never even used it in the fic xD

🍉What's your favourite type of comment to receive on your work?

Ones that are play-by-play reactions to the story, and/or tell me specific parts of the story that they enjoyed and why. But really, ANY and all comments make me so, so happy. I feel touched any time someone takes the time to leave me a comment.

🍐What's the most fringe trope/topic you write about?

I am not aware of anyone else currently writing Trans Jily fics (though point me in their direction if you know of someone who is!)

🥭What is the hardest type of story for you to write?

Strictly canon-compliant fics. It's too much to remember all the tiny details to make sure I've gotten everything just right. And enemies to lovers. I've discovered I really enjoy rivals to lovers, but enemies to lovers just doesn't make sense to my brain. I don't know how to get them from A to B.

🍏What is the easiest type?

Angst, angst, angst. xD Especially canon or canon-adjacent angst. And I know it's not a story type, but man, do I love a story with a lot of banter in it.

🍑Where do you do your writing? What platform? When?

I use Google docs for the most part, but I will write ideas and random snippets of scenes in my Notes app when I'm not at a computer.

🍋What is something you've been too nervous/ intimidated to write, but would love to write one day?

I'd love to write some Korrasami, as I've mentioned to Kelsey before. I'd also love to do a crossover Marauders fic with either PJO, THG, or ATLA, but I'm afraid it'd end up feeling kitschy or something. But my BIG magnum opus idea is a canon-compliant centered around Sirius, probably just through his Azkaban escape. Well, that or a multi-chap Prongsfoot fic, but that is something I'm actually pretty confident writing. The other one is a LOT more intimidating.

🍇What made you choose your username?

I wanted it to be something that had my name in it + one of my personal motifs, so I played around with James/Jamie and different terms for ocean, trees, and sunshine. Came up with a list, narrowed it down to 2-3 top choices, and ended up choosing this one because it just flows in my brain in a way I like. Plus, it goes well with my blog title, the Noah Kahan lyric, "my head is an ocean."

yeah!! it's important to me to emphasize to others that it's not the not using the aids it's the feeling well enough to not need to, cuz it's a mistake that's like. pretty common and even popular. (consider "wow this wheelchair user walked the stage at their graduation and was clearly in pain the whole time" type of stuff. the ubiquity of that type of "inspiration porn" has a huge impact on the disabled community, especially because a significant portion of us are exposed to that first rather than the realities of being disabled.) but feeling well even for one day means my body is still capable of feeling well under the right circumstances, and that matters!

(there is a correlation, because on bad days it's harder to get up and take it in the middle of the day, but that's like. definitely not causative.) it might be that different dosing would work better for you, or it might be that it just doesn't really help you! mcas is a tricky beast, as we all know. for real though, like, I wanna answer this one kinda seriously even though I'm sure this was just a driveby, because I know it's a common insecurity. why are you upset? if anyone can do it, why shouldn't I? why aren't you?

I make very very very little money from this blog (I even looked up the numbers, in the nearly 5 years I've been doing this I've made a total of ~$1650 to date), but that's because I'm really not putting in effort to make it ~profitable~. my patreon is has no rewards and my commissions are closed (except for literally right now), I only put very rare purposefully designed products on my print-on-demand stores and I haven't made my own stickers to sell in over a year. so if you're mad about people giving me money, don't be. even if you very very conservatively assume only 10 minutes per drawing and also zero other time put into running this blog, that's bare minimum 295 hours I've put into this. in reality it's going to be way way higher than that, but even if you assume I'm only drawing 10 minutes a day for 1771 days and I'm only drawing with no other admin etc, that's only $5.50 an hour, or about $0.93 per drawing.

part of why I don't put in the effort to make it ~profitable~ is because I can't. when my patreon had actual rewards and my commissions were always open and I was still making stickers, that took a ton of energy, and yes it made me a little more money than I'm getting right now, those two years are the period of time the majority of it came from, but it was energy I don't have. I'm disabled, severely chronically ill, and very vocal about it. I don't have a day job to quit because I physically can't do that. but that's also why I can't put in the energy to make this blog a ~business~, and even when I was putting in more energy than I actually had, it was not exactly big returns. I think the biggest most profitable year was like. $800. for the whole year. I made 5 times that doing data entry for a couple hours a week before that company shut down the same year, and the data entry was easier.

so okay, I'm not doing it for the money. (money sure would be nice to have, and I appreciate the patrons who stick around just cuz and the commissions that got picked up this week, but clearly that's not my motivation because there's not much money in running this blog.) then why should I bother?

because making stuff is fun. I get to draw silly little things that make me happy and sometimes other people like them too. that's it. what's the harm in that?

That is my queue tag, it posts two randomly queued posts per day to keep my blog somewhat active. There's a variety of things in it, about half "fandom" stuff and half art/poetry/stuff of that nature. it's just "MIDI" and Q put together--doesn't mean anything else special really.

On the other hand, if you heavily reference my art I'm a bit more okay with that. Just please credit me in all these situations. Please, do not trace and claim and of my art as your own.

6.) Q - What is your political stance?

A - left. So far left. My blog/account is a safe space for everyone and everything, except racism, homophobia, transphobia, zionism*, nazi ideology, and anything along those lines. A - Please don't repost my art unless credit is given/you link to one of my accounts! Please don't repost my art without my watermark (the TD signature) or with it cropped in pretty much any way. I'd prefer it wasn't resposted at all, but if you do please add credit! My art is something I hold very dear to my heart and something I value a lot.

8.) Q - What program/tablet/brush do you use?

A - I use multiple programs! Mainly procreate for a lot of the things I post, with that I use an Apple Pencil (1st gen) and a 9th gen iPad. For the brush, I usually use the teyoid lineart brush that I got off Pinterest, and the hard round brush for shading and coloring. I also use CSP (Clip Studio Paint), especially when I draw on PC, with a pc I use a Gaomon PD1161 . And for the brushes, I mostly use this peachy’s somewhat dry ink brush for lineart, and then the default g-pen for coloring/shading.

9.) Q - do you have other social medias/where can I find you?

A - I do! I have a plethora of other socials, you can find me almost anywhere under Toucan Drawz, Toucan_Drawz, or anything along those lines! I don’t have specific links, since, well, I think I have too many socials to count. But I’m most active on tumblr out of all the socials medias that aren’t basically a messaging app (looking at you, discord).

10.) Q - Can i recreate your art?

A - No, please don’t. My art is very dear to me, and I don’t want it recreated. Imo recreation is different to tracing (in a learning environment) or heavily referencing, because it’s basically just remaking something, but changing it a little or not changing it at all. Even if it’s with a different medium, it makes me uncomfortable. Using the same pose/scene idea is absolutely okay! And if my art makes you feel inspired enough to want to, I’m glad! :D But please, do not recreate my art.

3. What fandoms do you write for? Gossip Girl fairly exclusively, but I have been coaxed to write some Nancy Drew & some The Shadowhunter Chronicles drabbles, and I am currently in a will-she-won't-she with firstprince and RWRB

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos? - somewhere you feel free  - (the more you say) the less I know - gladly beyond any experience - mercurial high (a goddamn blaze in the dark) - as long as there are stars above you 

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? I try to! if somebody takes the time to tell me they liked the thing i made, I want to say thank you! I often fall months behind, but theoretically, every comment gets a response.

6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? oh it's probably my Last Five Years derena au, twin flame bruise. i'm usually a fluffy ending kind of writer, but ofc my source material demanded something different, and it was weirdly satisfying in a way! 

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? I think most of my fluffy happy endings end on the same level....but if I had to pick just ONE, then I'll go with my The Holiday AU, a snowfall kind of love, just for that NYE cozy closing scene. just thinking about it is making me smile

8. Do you get hate on fics? it's only happened a few times, most people are total sweethearts, and since i've locked my fics the hate has disappeared, people aren't nasty when they have to sign their username to it. I remember one commenter on my p&p au who complained about how I was structuring the story but like....it's jane austen's pacing, I was just plugging in my blorbos, like. girl.

another one that made me and the discord laugh a lot was some hate I got on a dan/nate fic that was offended that I wrote dan as a bottom, which....have you seen that boy?

and there was hate because i dared make any characters queer at all. none of the van der humphreys are straight, sorry not sorry. they all bewildered me at the time, but in hindsight they're all just hilarious.

9. Do you write smut? If so what kind? the smutty kind? the horny kind? I tend to gravitate towards romantic smut, like, they're so in love they've gotta fuck nasty about it, but that's not always the case. I guess the classification I could give to all the smut in my collection is that I always try to work in Character Study into my porn. like, yes, they would be into that, and here's my persuasive essay as to why. like dan humphrey is a Bottom.

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve ever written? no, not into crossovers, just not my cup of tea. I like doing aus with preexisting stories (see: p&p, l5y, the holiday, little women), but I don't like mixing characters from different worlds. just doesn't appeal.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? oh yikes i hope not. i don't think anyone cares enough for my smutty writings on a show that's been off the air for a decade to steal it.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated? it is an honor I dream not of!

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? i have not. I have many many wonderful writer friends that i've met through this hobby, but my life is so hectic that I feel like I can't really guarantee my time and attention to write with someone else, and I don't want to let my brilliant beautiful writing friends down by making promises that I cannot fulfill. maybe when i marry rich and retire.

14. What’s your all-time favorite ship? going off the data, I'd say it's Dair.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will? ummmmmm at this juncture....any of my unfinished ones.......just know that if desire and will was enough....they would all be finished.

What are your writing strengths? my strength is really filling out a universe. i like digging in and making those decisions of why things are the way that they are, why would this character choose this path, or that path. if i'm making an au from scratch, it's building the world, or if i'm doing an au of a preexisting recipe, it's connecting the dots and making the gg world fit into the auverse

What are your writing weaknesses? other than actually writing? loooooool no but i think right now i get stuck in the "it has to come out perfect" and that slows me down a lot. and that leads to editing as i go and that slows me down even more and......blah. also descriptions. descriptions get me. dialogue is fine, and the choreography of action that plays out in my head makes sense, but putting it into prose? it's embarrassing! maybe i just need to get back to slapping up words, leaving them alone, and coming back to revise later.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? um scared? my singer education gave me a little bit of working knowledge of romance languages, but my grammar is trash. and poetic singing language is different from how people speak. so i avoid it as a whole because i'm scared of getting it wrong and looking foolish, or worse, offending someone. a little French and Italian will sneak in from time to time, if it works for a character, and lucky for dair it does, but i cling to word reference dot com whenever I do.

19. First fandom you ever wrote for? in middle school when we had free writing in english class, i wrote twilight fanfiction that i am SO glad has been lost to time. rip to little me on the day i realized mrs maddox read everything in that notebook for a GRADE (it was all very chaste and sfw, i was just mortified on principle)

20. Favorite fic you’ve ever written? it changes with the tides!!!! and with recency bias! for the past week it's been the miloverse - I know a place where your heart can be safe - maybe because I wrote it in the fall, but it does feel so cozy and autumnal.

Always. I appreciate readers and their thoughts and the fact that they took the time to say something makes me smile so I always return with my own response! Granted occasionally I'm blindsided by criticism and it's harder to know how to respond

6. what’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?

Probably my Nutcracker Prince retelling story which had criticism as aforementioned in the previous question and because 1 I didn't know the trope the commenter spoke about and 2 because they were and still are the only one to comment I have lost some confidence in wanting to share that story as openly as I have in the past.

I have angsty fics tho I just thought of that one first. One of my Frankenstein one shots got pretty depressing too. I'm all about angst most of the time despite giving happy endings most often in my larger stories lol

7. do you write crossovers?

Yeah for one shots. Most of mine are quite old though I don't do crossovers very often anymore

8. have you ever received hate on a fic?

Unfortunately. I have been called passive aggressive for asking for reviews after which they tore apart the chapter I'd released. I've had someone accuse me of writing something merely for shock value and in the process also possibly offend a marginalized community. I've had someone call me out for using "inappropriate language" for the disabled community. All of the comments were points of consideration but the way they were given to me shocked me and hit my self esteem a bit.

9. do you write smut? if so, what kind?

Not really though perhaps in the future I may try again. My Daughter of Death story in particular had a NSFW chapter that I released alongside a more SFW one.

Back in the day I started a Digimon fanfic (still on ff.net) but I doubt I'd ever get back to it

Great at dialogue and character feelings and motivations I'd say. I also like to make scenarios make plausible sense so I try to write fanfiction as close to canon as possible which prevents me sometimes from being confident in writing characters that someone else has made

16. what are your writing weaknesses?

I'm not strong with always describing setting honestly lol

17. what are your thoughts on writing dialogue in another language?

I'll do it and mostly when it feels strong to put it in and/or when it's easy for the audience to understand the context of what's being said

Erm probably The 10th Kingdom honestly when I wrote the characters for a "survival story" assignment in grade 6

19. what’s your favorite fic you’ve ever written?

I'm playing favourites with The Haunted Manor because it's the longest fic and the one I'm so proud of and the one people have actually given great feedback for. I reread it myself from time to time

To understand how many red flags the post and account has, and to learn how to identify scams easily on your own, see this post. I'd recommend deleting the post, or completely defacing it with a warning in the reblog field and tags. Remember to always check the tumblr tag for the username (tumblr.com/url) and see if there are warnings first. Other red flags include contacting you out of the blue when you don't know them, having a blog where the posts are only a few days old (scammers count on you scrolling just for a second then giving up before you reach the end), having all reblogged posts that are high in notes and always reblogged from the original source, and asking you to respond to their ask privately, so people can't tell they're reusing a copied ask format from an earlier scam. Also, hi, I'm against censorship and I don't even have/like any bad ships. You're welcome for telling you something useful.

🍓 How did you get into writing fanfiction?

I read wrestling fanfic when I was 12 (for Jeff Hardy/Trish Stratus lol) and then when I binge watched That 70s Show at 16 in 2005 before season 8 started, I got super into Jackie/Hyde and was like hey I wonder if there is fanfic for them and remembered FF.net. They were my first ship I felt compelled enough to want to start writing my own fics too. That was the first fandom I was more I'd a participant in and I've been forever changed since.

🍇 How many fandoms have you written in?

5 (T7S, Twilight, The Big Bang Theory, Game of Thrones/A Song of Ice and Fire, and now ACOTAR. I mayyyy have written one or two real person fics back in the day on livejournal too lmao).

🍈 How many years have you been writing fanfiction?

Since 2005 so almost 20 lmao. Which is wild AF.

🍅 Do you read or write more fanfiction?

Depends. Overall I've read more of course but when I'm deep into writing multichapter fics like I am now and with my busy life schedule I don't have a lot of time to sit down and peruse. I have a lot of Elucien fics that I've put on my TBR which I have felt bad doing. But Summer Heat will be over soon and I'll take a month off between it and the sequel and will get more reading done.

🍌 What is one way you've improved as a writer?

Oh certainly my ability to finish a long fic. In my younger days I abandoned way more than I finished. It's certainly a skill you must learn to maintain the stamina, interest, and motivation. My goal for this fandom is to not start any multichapter fics I can't finish.

🍑 Do you have any bad habits as a writer?

As I learned in the last two weeks, my posture lmao. Which I always knew was bad but I reaped the terrible consequences of it when pulling a muscles in my back/neck. It doesn't help that I have a very standard office job too so my whole life is just screens and having to sit.

🍉 What's your favorite type of comment to receive on your work?

Omg any comments really but especially ones that are very thoughtful and tell me what they liked and what thoughts it inspired in them. I also love when people point out specific quotes of text that they particularly liked.

🍋 What is something you've been too nervous or intimidated to write but would love to write one day?

Outside of an original novel? Lol, in fanfic there isn't much that makes me nervous these days especially in terms of topics or tropes. But I will be branching out soon and writing more Eris x OC (Alexius) solo fics and I am nervous that it's just not really something people want to read on their own. I have observed that Eris x male OC is very uncommon. Most OC fics the OC is a woman and most Eris is gay/bi fics he is paired with Azriel and very occasionally another canonical character. I've gotten some of my Elucien audience invested in them in Summer Heat but branching out on their own is going to be a grand experiment.

🍇 What made you choose your username?

This is the same username I made on FF.net when I started writing T7S fic in 2005. Jackie and Hyde shippers were called Zennies because of an early storyline of them in Season 2 where Hyde teaches Jackie to be zen (cool). So I wanted to play on that and came up with zenkindoflove and have never changed as it's become sort of a part of my fandom identity having it for so long.

🍓 How did you get into writing fanfiction?

As a teen I was a voracious reader and tried to write my own stuff based on other books I'd read. I also loved ST:TNG and wanted dearly to be in an episode and had lots of the books. I wrote my own ST stories with OC's (gratuitous self inserts), but they never went anywhere. In my late teens I read some Xena fanfic on the internet. But that was it for a great number of years.

At the beginning of 2021 I sat and watched the entirety of the MCU films in chronological order (I'd seen most of them before and was mainly a Thor gal.) I fell down the Stucky rabbithole. Deep. I decided to look up fanfic. AO3 was now a thing! I wrote (a very poor) Stucky fic and here we are, almost 3 years later

🍇How many fandoms have you written in?

As my ST stuff never made it further than my parent's old PC in the days of dial-up, I won't count it.

I've written for MCU, various Chris Evans and Seb Stan Characters and one fic for RWRB. I've been toying with writing a one-off Criminal Minds fic as a gift for a friend.

🍈How many years have you been writing fanfiction?

Three in July since I first published anything on AO3.

🍎Do you read or write more fanfiction?

I try to balance it out. If I have a period of hyperfocus writing I try to then go through a period of reading. I read on both Tumblr and AO3, so try to keep that even as well.

🍌What is one way you've improved as a writer?

Getting betas to pick me up on tense changes, overuse of words and rogue commas. Reading more. Practising. Writing outlines for longer stories so I don't go off-piste.

🍑Do you have any bad habits as a writer?

Getting bored half-way through a long fic, especially if the first few parts haven't had a lot of interaction. Which is why I try to write the whole thing before I start posting.

🍍 What's the weirdest topic you researched for a writing project?

Engineering courses at MIT and, for a separate fic, Violet wands, including the ways to use them and the differnt types of accessories you can use with them. I even watched a Youtube video.

🍉What's your favourite type of comment to receive on your work?

Any comment! Anything that gives me the validation I need!

🍐What's the most fringe trope/topic you write about?

I wrote a transformation into Tsum-tsum fic that was both cracky and smutty. That's pretty niche.

🥭What is the hardest type of story for you to write?

Action scenes. I loathe them. I'm constantly wondering if they are long enough, and make sense.

🍏What is the easiest type?

Short things that are either PWP or fluffy slices of life.

Mainly on my elderly laptop on G-Docs, and in every moment I can - normally afterwork before dinner and on Mondays when I don't have work.

It's kind of lame, but

I was following this mental health blog yeaarss ago, and someone who was considering suicide said that no one would remember them. And they signed their message as Serenity. and idk for some reason I made that a username in reference to them. but serenity was already taken, so I added a V at the end for Vegan because I didn't want to think to much on it. I used to make them now I hate them. If it's asking, or suggesting or explains why it's important to reblog then that's fine. But if it outright says to reblog, usually in a judging tone I don't. Because it always is the assumption that I don't care if I don't reblog it and that's never the case.

Bored so I'm goin for it:

1. Are you named after anyone? -Nope, but my brother is named after our great grandfather. I honestly don't remember how I picked my chosen name, but I love it so I'm not changing it. My nickname Meso comes from when I first joined The Sauce and my username reflects that.

2. When was the last time you cried? -Yesterday lol. Strained family relationships are so much fun.

3. Do you have kids? -No, and I never plan on having any in the future. I might attempt foster care but I think that's my limit. Cats are the only children I need or want.

4. What sports do you play? -None anymore, thank god. But my parents forced me to play soccer and volleyball back in middle school which I hated every second of.

5. Do you use sarcasm? -I am sarcasm incarnate; I use it all the time. It mainly stems from having to deal with my shitty family, but I do remember one time at a family reunion some guy I'd never met that me and my cousins were talk to told me "You know, you're really sarcastic all the time" and for like 3 years I was incredibly self conscious about it. Now though I've decided "fuck it, I'm going to be the most sarcastic bitch here"

6. What's the first thing you notice about people? -Clothing. Down here, it's one of the easiest ways to pick out who's friend or foe. For example, you see someone wearing a Simply Southern shirt or excessive camo, you fucking run.

7. What's your eye colour? -Dark brown.

8.Scary movies or Happy movies? -Scary movies hands down. Horror is my favorite genre, but I'll never shy away from a good comedy if that's what you mean by "happy" movies. If you mean like a Disney movie, it's a bit more pick-and-choose.

9. Do you have any talents? -Not in my opinion at least. However I've been told by many people that I can do an UWU voice that brings about a visceral fight-or-flight reaction.

10. Where were you born? -Wouldn't you like to know, weather boy.

11. What are your hobbies? -Watching movies, reading, writing, audiobook readings, and embroidery.

12. Do you have any pets? -That I own personally: my little demon child of a cat Nebula. I do, however, have a few pets that live at my grandparent's farm: Twilight, Finn, Bilbo Baggins, and Tilly Primrose (all cats), and the dog Chip. There's other animals there too, but they don't classify as pets. I used to have a rooster named Jerry though.

13. How tall are you? -Too short for my liking.

14. What was your favourite subject in school? -I was homeschooled and the system that we used was horrible, so I hated all of my classes. If I had to choose something though, I'd go with the cooking elective that I took because it was pretty easy and my family does a lot of cooking.

5. What's your dream job? -I'm currently working towards something in abnormal psychology because it's something that I'm interested in that will also be a pretty good career choice, but if I could choose absolutely anything it would probably be voice acting. Locke is not anyones name as far as I knoooww but! My other name Connor I got from my own oc, someone asked me for my name one time and I thought they wanted my oc's name so I told them that, NEVER corrected them and it stuck (It's been seven yrs since then, I don't even talk to that person anymore)

2. When was the last time you cried?

Yesterday! I relistened to episode 61 of season 1 of dungeons and daddies

3. Do you have kids?

Nope, I have baby cousins but I don't really want my own

4. What sports do you play/have you played?

I used to love hockey and netball but my teachers never let me on any teams bc I suck at sports

Very frequently but I'm also autistic so will almost always indicate if it is or not!
